Five graduates of the University of the Philippines College of Medicine dominated the top 10 list of the Physician Licensure Examination (PLE) passers released last November 11, 2021.

Ian Gabriel Juyad bagged the top spot with a rating of 87.50%, followed by Jian Kenzo Leal and Geremiah Edison Daniel Llanes, who both ranked second with a rating of 87.42%. Michael Brian Alvarez and Marie Bernadine Caballes also tied for sixth place with a rating of 86.92%.

The newly licensed physicians took the exams last October 30-31 and November 1-2, 2021, upon the administration of the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) for the National Capital Region and Tuguegarao city takers. Out of 2,302 takers, 1,677 passed. 

Among the represented universities, the University of the Philippines College of Medicine placed second among the best performing schools with a passing rate of 96.30% (78 out of 81).
