UP Manila, UP CHE, ASMPH Engage in Mind Meld 2018

For the first time in its four-year history, all 7 colleges of UP Manila were represented alongside participants from Ateneo School of Medicine and Public Health and UP College of Home Economics.

Held last April 21, 2018 at ERC Room 218, the event had this year’s theme as “Promoting the rights of patients and health care professionals through interprofessional collaboration”.

The program started with Dr. Louricha Opina-Tan, who expounded on the importance of interprofessional education (IPE) and interprofessional collaboration (IPC). The case was presented after. Participants were then brought to ERC Room 213 for the break-out sessions. Dr. Anthony Cordero facilitated a mini workshop on IPE for the remaining audience.

The outputs were presented in the afternoon, followed by a discussion by the judges on the importance of IPE. This year’s judges were Dr. Elizabeth Paterno, Dr. Louricha Opina-Tan, Prof. Rosalie Quilicol, Prof. Ma Angela Mabale, Prof. Margarita Gutierrez, Dr. Rose Anne Rosanes, Prof. Krysta Ellieza Perez, Ms. Manilyn Prudente Espejo, and Prof. Airon Bonifacio.

The winners of Mind Meld 2018 were Alyssa Tamayo, Konrad Frederick Magboo, Regiel Christian Mag-usara, Harold Joshua De Guzman, Paulene Faye Choi and Kert Howard Olea.

Organizers of this year’s Mind Meld were the UP Medicine Student Council, UP Pharmaceutical Association, and UP Community Health and Development Program, co-presented by Nestlé Bear Brand, Amazing Trampoline Park, and the Philippine Pharmacists Association, in cooperation with The Generics Pharmacy, and in partnership with the Philippine General Hospital, and Brex Pharmacy Review.
